York County Jail Facility
York County does not operate a stand-alone adult jail on Goodwin Neck Road. The adult custody facility for York County and Poquoson is Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail in Williamsburg. VPRJ is operated by the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail Board Authority / VPRJ Board and serves several member localities. The 2024 RFP describes the building as a direct and indirect supervision facility with housing on the ground floor, visitation booths and offices on the second floor, and a communications room on the third floor.

Booking in York County
After a York County adult arrest, a person may be taken to a magistrate and then to VPRJ if held. VPRJ's homepage confirms that the lobby remains open for people who need to see the magistrate, and York County General District Court materials point warrant seekers to the magistrate at VPRJ. A typical intake can include identity processing, charge intake, search and property handling, fingerprinting or booking photo where applicable, medical and mental-health screening, classification, and assignment to jail housing.
Use careful timing language. No official VPRJ update interval was located for when a new booking appears online. A person may not show on the public roster immediately after arrest. That is why VPRJ phone confirmation, VINE notification, sheriff arrest reports, and court search all remain part of a complete York County inmate records workflow.
